I want to care about the art market--and listen to that podcast--but don't. I can understand why someone who sells their art would be interested in such economics, though.
I hear you on the art market. I’m more interested in understanding how things work on the “blue chip” level, even if I’m nowhere near it. I feel like it’s important for artists to have at least a surface knowledge of how various parts of the art worlds work.
Since I stared listening to various art-related podcasts back during the lockdown, I’ve gained a lot of insight into how various curators, collectors, gallery/museum people and other artists navigate this crazy world of art.
